Sony's LCD TV Review:

Environmental awareness is on the table again, thankfully it is well to say. Television producers, namely trying to outdo each other with the functions and features to save energy and reduce toxins and waste in production and returns management. It's obviously a trend we welcome.

Sony LCD TV snags final extra on this trend when they release a product that WE5. It is a TV that not only has a green excuse finesse in the form of a single master switch for the elimination of standby consumption. No, this is a whole lot of features, some quite ingenious, to the daily television viewing should draw as little energy as possible.

According to Sony prefers WE5: an as little as 97 watts in operation which is substantially lower than most 40-thumbs, and many 32-Inches, on the market. Comparatively, this is about halved energy consumption if it makes this model of Sony's 40-Inches W4500. On a yearly basis, therefore, there is some money to save.

New efficient technologies
The explanation for WE5: ans-efficient approach is mainly to find a new type of backlight that uses HCFL (Hot Cathode Fluorescent Lamps). Another green innovation is the presence sensor that senses movement in front of the TV It can turn off the screen automatically when you leave a room and switch on again when you come in again. If you choose to go to bed can it after a while, turn off the TV altogether.
