Windows Mobile 7 might get Zune interface

Mobile World Congress is due to start in Barcelona, where most mobile phone manufacturers will showcase their latest products, both having been published and the soon to be published. Microsoft will also showcase its Windows Mobile Phone. In this context, many expect that they will showcase Windows Mobile 7 (WM7) to be published later this year or the beginning of 2011.

Most agree that Microsoft has fallen far behind on the operating front when it comes to cell phones, why Windows Mobile 7 by many seen as last chance to catch its competitors.

The latest rumors from the industry now that Microsoft has chosen an entirely new direction with WM7, more recalls interface on the Zune HD than WM6.5.

Allegedly, it will be based on Silverlight technology, support multi-touch and have tight integration with Zune.

Whether this information is correct remains to be seen when the MWC 2010 takes place from 15 to 18 February.
