If you do not feel the need or LED Cinema 21:9 solutions, Philips is 47PFL9664H top model from Philips. This 47-inch boast about everything between heaven and earth and fills so all this boasting in a container which is only 50mm deep. Is it as impressive as it looks on paper? Read our full review of Philips 47PFL9664H to get the answer. Philips 47PFL9664H is a beautiful TV set with one of the thinnest profiles we've seen in a non-LED screen. Just 50mm in depth, so there is not even room for a put jacks on the side - just a series of touch sensitive controls. All entries - including no fewer than five HDMI inputs - are placed behind her back.
On the back you'll find the usual Ambilight wall lighting setup, which is one of Philips marks which bathes the wall behind Philips 47PFL9664H with a rainbow of colored lights that match whatever color is available on the screen. It looks great and reduces the apparent impact to the eye and increases the perceived contrast.
The contrast is one of the things that Philips 47PFL9664H really mastered. Although there is no direct LED backlighting with local dimming (a feature you find on some more expensive Philips models), the monitor can deliver real ink black and fiery white light.
Quiet movements are smooth and blur-free, while fast moving objects seem almost untouched albeit with a slight blur to boot with. Add the crisp details, natural colors, and you've got an excellent all-round picture. And there are plenty of options to customize it for your own personal taste. If you think that the motion processor feature makes the film look too smooth out? You can reduce the effect or turn it off completely.
The designers have put a lot of thoughts in Philips 47PFL9664H's sound quality for its rear-mounted speakers provide long more bass and livelier sound than you would normally get out of a thin LCD TVs.
You may even feel like listening to music through the speakers, this is no problem because Philips 47PF9664H comes loaded with a large portion of media functionality. You can access movies, music and image files from a USB stick, but more impressive is the built-in Wi-Fi and DLNA connection, allowing you to stream content over your home network.
Wi-Fi (which is also Ethernet) also allows you to access the Internet via Philips' NetTV service. There is a wealth of pre-formatted websites (including YouTube) and a full browser, but it's all a bit too slow and clumsy to tempt you away from the laptop.
All things considered, then Philips 47PFL9664H one of the best dogs in its category. Image quality, design and features are all rock solid.
We Love: Great pictures and sound delicious narrow-body, network and browser options.
We hate: Slow browser, not as thin as LED television, no place to plug in side. LCD TV
Judgement: A strong all-rounder with an amazing stock of opportunities.
